Report from the WP2/4/6 meeting at the German Federal Archives in Berlin
Last week WP2, 4 and 6 joint up for a meeting at the German Federal Archives in Berlin. 26 project members from 12 countries attended to assess their current standing and work on their upcoming road map.

Registration for joint EURBICA and APEx meeting closing on 11.11.2013
Following the International Council on Archives Annual Conference in Brussels from 23 – 24 November 2013, the European Regional Branch of the ICA (EURBICA) and the APEx-project will hold joint meeting on the matter of “Update and outlooks on the Archives Portal Europe”.
The Archives Portal Europe is a venture in active cooperation of archives in Europe for creating an infrastructure for cross boarder research and investigation of descriptive information. It is initiated and supported by the European Board of National Archivists. The meeting is intended to encourage reflections on new developments and their impacts for the activities of the APEx-project.

Welcome Slovakia to the Archives Portal Europe
We are happy to announce that we have now added a new country to the Archives Portal Europe: Slovakia!
23-24 November 2013: The APE @ ICA annual conference in Brussels (BE)
The Technical Coordinator and Work Package 2 Leader Kerstin Arnold (German Federal Archives) and Work Package 4 Leader Susanne Waidmann (German Federal Archives) will talk about The Archives Portal Europe – how collaboration grants new perspectives on archival content, standardisation and ways to explore today’s online challenges on Sunday, 24 November 2013 at 11 am in Session 4, Parallel 3.
Furthermore, the APEx project will provide an information booth during the whole conference. There the conference participants will have the chance to get some general as well as distinct information on the APEx project and the Archives Portal Europe. More than that, the participants are more than welcome to bring their own data in order to test out a trial ingestion.
