12 March 2014: The Archives Portal Europe in Switzerland
The work group "Norms and Standards" of the VSA - the Association of Swiss Archivists - organises a workshop on Standard Encoded Archival Description (EAD) on 12 March 2014 in Bern (CH). This workshop aims at familiarising Swiss archives with said standards and encourages their implementation. The exemplification of practical areas of application will further illustrate the usage of EAD.
After a short introduction, the workshop will focus on real-life working areas und present various examples from different cantons.
Our APEx-project partner, the Swiss Federal Archives, will introduce the Archives Portal Europe as an example of practical EAD implementation. The programme is available here (in German and French). Of course, they will also adress the new Archives Portal Europe 1.2 release!
